Daryl Sattler joined the North Florida men's soccer staff as the volunteer goalkeeper coach in Summer 2022.
In his first season training Osprey goalkeepers, he assisted Micah Gun in claiming three ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week honors during the 2022 season.
Sattler has over 20 years of goalkeeping experience and is considered one of the best goalkeeper coaches in the state of Florida. He most recently has been the goalkeeper coach for Flagler College and is the Director of Goalkeeping for Jacksonville FC, while also starting EPIC Goalkeeping, Prime Soccer Academy, and EPIC Soccer Academy all since 2017.
At Flagler College, Sattler produced the best goalkeeper in program history that was selected as Goalkeeper of the Year three consecutive years. He also helped coach team to a 23-1-1 record with a final four appearance in 2019, followed by being ranked as the #1 team in the nation during the 2020 season.
His storied career started in high school when he was the Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year in 1998. He went on to start in the net all four years for Western Kentucky and set the program record for most career shutouts with 19.5 total, while also serving as a team captain and being named team MVP his junior and senior seasons.
Sattler's coaching career started in 2004, when he coached at Lipscomb University for two years as the Goalkeeping Assistant Coach for two years. This was followed by a one-year stint in the same coaching position at Jacksonville University.
While he was coaching for Lipscomb and Jacksonville, he was also playing professionally while coaching from 2003-2006. When put a halt to his coaching career in 2007 when he signed with the Atlanta Silverbacks in the USL First Division.
From 2007 until 2015 he played for five different professional soccer teams with 85 appearances at the keeper position, including winning the national championship with the San Antonio Scorpions in the NASL in 2014-15. He also won the Golden Glove Award with a 0.79 GAA with 13 shutouts in 24 games during the 2012 season in San Antonio.
He returned to coaching full-time in 2016 when he became the Head Goalkeeper Coach and Academy GK Director for Jacksonville Armada FC. His stint with the Ospreys will be his fifth coaching stop in his career and his third since returning to coach in 2016.
