North Florida men's soccer assistant coach Craig McCall was added to the staff on Aug. 13.
"I'm very excited to add Craig McCall to our coaching staff," head coach Jamie Davies said. "This hire was all about giving more individual attention to our student-athletes and elevating their experience. Having another perspective, especially one with Craig's qualities and knowledge, will be valuable addition. Craig has played in Florida before and was a captain for his previous teams, which shows the level of character we have added. I know he will keep the standards high and help drive this group to achieve more."
McCall will assist in aspects of recruiting, video analysis and individualized player development. McCall played professionally for four years, most recently as a midfielder with the South Georgia Tormenta in the USL League One.
"The chance to work with this staff and for such a great program at the University of North Florida is an opportunity that I couldn't miss," McCall added. "I'm very excited to get to work with this group of student-athletes and help them emulate and elevate on recent success."
McCall was a team captain, Region 8 Conference Co-Player of the Year and NJCAA All-American at Eastern Florida State College, where he helped lead the program to a National Semifinals appearance and a Region 8 Conference Championship title. He also played for Florida Institute of Technology.
He has spent time as a U14 Lead Phase Coach with the Bradford City Football Club, U20 Individual Technical Coach with Harrogate Town, in addition to roles as a Football Coach with the Des Moines Menace First Team, Strive Academy and the U16/U15 South Carolina Surf.
McCall is UEFA B License, SFA Football Psychology, SFA Adult Physical Preparation, NASML3 Personal Trainer and NASM L4 Certified Nutrition certified.
