- Played his senior season of high school basketball at Madison Ridgeland Academy (MRA) for the legendary Richard Duease, Mississippi's all-time winningest boys basketball coach.
- Also coached by former NBA First Round draft pick, Erick Dampier.
- Posted 17 points and nine boards per game to help guide MRA to the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) 5A State Championship.
- Named to the MAIS First Team, MAIS 5A All-Tournament Team and MAIS Overall Tournament Team.
- Posted 12 points and six rebounds for Ridgeland High School as a junior, earning a spot on the Mississippi State Junior All-Star Team.
