
Women's Tennis Defeats Stetson, Secures First Undefeated Regular Season In Program History

DELAND, Fla. – For the first time in program history, North Florida Women's Tennis secured an undefeated regular season when it defeated Stetson, 6-1, at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on Friday.
Senior Laurie Barendse and graduate student Isabel Oliveira tallied the first win in doubles with a victory at the one line, 6-3. Sophomore Aryana Bartlett and graduate student Anslee Long clinched the doubles point for the Ospreys with a win at two, 6-4.
Sophomore Gabby Goyins and senior Jasmin Makela added a doubles win on court three, 6-4.
Barendse opened singles action with a dominant two-set victory at the one line. Barendse dropped just one point in the first set and two in the second to secure a win on court one, 6-1, 6-2. Long extended North Florida's lead to 3-0 in the match with a two-set win at six, 6-2, 6-4.Â
Goyins clinched the match point that allowed the Ospreys to secure their undefeated regular season with a win on court five, 6-3, 6-2. With the win at five, Goyins improved to 18-1 in singles play to close out the regular season.
As North Florida played to completion, Bartlett notched UNF's fourth singles win of the match with a victory at the three line, 6-4, 6-2. Freshman May Fadida tallied North Florida's final win in singles action on court four, 7-5, 6-4.
