FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Florida softball's split doubleheader was highlighted with a shutout 3-0 victory in the first game of the series against Florida Gulf Coast on Friday evening.
The Ospreys were led by
Allison Benning in the first of two games, who picked up her 21st win in the circle this season with six strikeouts in four innings. She also expanded the one-run lead to three after a two-run bomb for her 19th of the season.
In the second game of the day, UNF couldn't find its rhythm on the diamond dropping only its second game of conference play through 23 competitions.
Lauren Brock recorded a two-hit performance for her team-high 11th on the year.
