FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Florida softball completed its regular season with a 4-2 win over Florida Gulf Coast on the road to earn the series win on Saturday afternoon.
The Ospreys will go into the postseason with a 42-13 overall record and a 22-2 record in ASUN play. They have tied the program-best mark of 42 total wins from 2013 and 2022, as they are currently one win away from the school record in Division I history.
After falling to a 2-0 deficit in the first inning, the Ospreys' offense burst onto the scene in the third inning.
Chloe Culp earned an RBI knock, followed with a bases-loaded walk from
Grace Shaw-Rockey and a two-RBI single from
Hadlee Reichert.
After putting up four runs in the third, the UNF defense kept the Eagles scoreless for the final six frames of the game.
Kylah Berry spun all seven innings with five strikeouts for her second shutout of the season.
