LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. – No. 16 North Florida beach volleyball fell to No. 3 Loyola Marymount and No. 4 Stanford to open action on Friday at the Laguna Beach Best of the West in Laguna Beach, Calif.
 
North Florida fell to LMU, 4-1, and Stanford, 5-0. Junior tandem Presley Murray and Mackenzie Murphy secured the top court in straight-sets, 21-19, 21-13, over LMU to improve to 16-3 on the season. The Ospreys' top tandem has won three of its last four matches. The pair of sophomore Cameron Humphries and senior Taylor Pierce at the three line and senior tandem Andrea Da Silva and Hayden Wooldridge at the four line battled back to take their second sets before ultimately falling in three-set matches. 
 
North Florida returns to the sand on Saturday to battle four-time reigning National Champion No. 7 USC at 6 p.m. in Laguna Beach, Calif.
