No. 16 Beach Volleyball Sweeps Eastern Kentucky and Central Arkansas

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 16 North Florida beach volleyball swept Eastern Kentucky and Central Arkansas to close out the ASUN Midseason Tournament on Saturday, held at The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex. 
 
North Florida improves to 17-1 on the season and 8-1 against ASUN opponents. North Florida has won eight-straight duals and is now 10-0 on its home sand. It marks the second time under head coach Doug Wright and third time in program history that the Ospreys have eclipsed 10 or more home wins.
 
Senior Mariana Feliciano Sanchez recorded the 75th win of her career – one of four players in program history to surpass the mark. 
 
North Florida made quick work in its dual with Eastern Kentucky to open the final day of tournament action. In the first wave, redshirt sophomore Eden Anderson and sophomore Sophia Notaro turned in a 21-6, 21-19, win at the five line, while senior tandem Andrea Da Silva and Hayden Wooldridge added a 21-14, 21-13, win at four. Senior Taylor Pierce and sophomore Cameron Humphries paired up to clinch the match with 21-12, 21-12, win at three. Junior Madison Espy and senior Mariana Feliciano Sanchez claimed the two line, 21-15, 21-14. Junior tandem Presley Murray and Mackenzie Murphy earned the sweep with a three-set win, 21-13, 19-21, 15-13, at the top slot.
 
North Florida returned to action later in the afternoon with its eighth home sweep in its dual with Central Arkansas. Senior Emily Guenter and sophomore Anne Marie Hardouin got on the board with a 21-14, 21-15 win at five. Senior tandem Andrea Da Silva and Hayden Wooldridge added a 21-18, 21-18 win at four. Senior Taylor Pierce and sophomore Cameron Humphries picked up a 21-17, 21-12, win at the three slot. Junior Madison Espy and senior Mariana Feliciano Sanchez secured the two line, 21-12, 21-17. Junior pair Presley Murray and Mackenzie Murphy recorded their 15th win of the season at the top court, 21-13, 19-21, 15-13. 
 
North Florida will battle five-ranked opponents, including four ranked inside the top-10, at the Laguna Beach Best in the West on April 4-6 in Laguna Beach, Calif.
