JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida baseball opened the doubleheader slate with a 10-0 run-rule win, but ended up splitting the day against Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday evening at Harmon Stadium.
The Ospreys caught fire early with a 6-0 lead through the first inning of the first game after a trio of RBI hits paired with a three-run bomb from
Seth Alford.
Connor Moore's solo homer for his first of the season and a walk-off nuke to right field from pinch hitter
Ty Velardo ended the game in seven innings with a 10-0 result.
Bryson Treichel stunned for UNF with a complete-game shutout with only three hits allowed and seven strikeouts in seven frames. The freshman continues to put together a solid campaign as one of the best rookie ballplayers in the conference from the bump.
After the first win of the afternoon, UNF had won six of its last seven games up to that point with five of the wins coming in ASUN play. It secured the first series win against FGCU since 2023 and the first-ever shutout for UNF against the Eagles.
