Baseball Clubs Three Home Runs In Win Over Queens

Carter White Drives In Five In 10-5 Win

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Three home runs were enough to power North Florida to a 10-5 win against Queens, Saturday from Charlotte, N.C.

North Florida (13-4, 2-2 ASUN) struck first in the top of the first. Nick Monile walked and Connor Moore was hit by a pitch to start the game. With runners at first and second, Carter White (3) crushed a three-run home run. Cade Bush (3) followed with a solo home run which gave UNF a 4-0 lead over Queens (4-17, 2-3 ASUN).

The Royals responded in the bottom of the first. With one out, Will Budnick singled. Two batters later, Justin Hudson singled. With runners at first and second, Jake Barbour cracked a two-run triple. With a runner at third, Tyler Peters singled to make it 4-3.

Leading 4-3, Monile reached on an error to start the second. He advanced to second on another error and scored later in the inning on an RBI single from Bush.

Up by two, Moore walked to leadoff the fifth. With a runner at first, White (4) demolished his second home run of the game. Two batters, Bates worked a walk. He stoled second and scored on an RBI double from Mitchell Collins which gave UNF a 8-3 lead. 

Queens added a run in the fifth. Nick Aldefer singled to start the inning and later scored on an RBI single from Barbour.

Leading 8-4 in the ninth, Bush singled and both Jabin Bates and Collins walked to load the bases. With bases full of 'Spreys, Brady Browning scored Bush on a sac fly. Santiago Ordonez followed with an RBI single which made it 10-4.

The Royals added one more run in the ninth on a sac fly from Hudsin, but North Florida finished off a Saturday win one batter later.
