RICHMOND, Ky. – Freshman
Lorenzo Messina earned a clutch win on court six to propel North Florida men's tennis past Eastern Kentucky, 4-3, in a back-and-forth match at EKU Tennis Center on Sunday.
North Florida improves to 2-0 in conference matches this season.
Eastern Kentucky took the doubles point with wins at the one and three lines. Freshman

Bruno Vietri led 5-3 at the second doubles position when the point was clinched.
The Colonels made it 2-0 with a win on court three before the back-and-forth action started. Freshman
Youssef Labbene answered back to a first-set loss to take court four, 1-6, 7-5, 6-2, then Eastern Kentucky won on court two. With their hosts looking to clinch, junior
Andreas Scott and Deloziere claimed their courts to tie the scoreboard at three.
Deloziere made quick work on court five with a 6-3, 6-2 straight-set win before Scott won a three-set thriller, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 on court one. With the match down to the last court, Messina added a 6-4, 6-2 decision on court six to seal the win.
