JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball dominated yet again against Western Carolina, 9-1, to pull in another run-rule victory in five innings against the Catamounts on Sunday afternoon at UNF Softball Complex.
The Ospreys piled in the hits early with
Allison Benning smashing a three-run homer in straight-away center to go up three after going three up, three down in the circle at the top of the first.
Chloe Culp and
Mackenzie Woods added two-RBI singles to extend the lead, followed with
Logan Turner with the same result in the fifth to walk it off in run-rule fashion.
Benning had a great showing on both sides with a trio of strikeouts and a three-run bomb in the first inning. On top of the RBI hits from the Ospreys,
Lauren Brock and
Kelsey Vogel each had three-hit performances to raise their batting averages to over .400 on the season.
