JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball fell to Central Arkansas, 72-59, inside UNF Arena on Saturday.
Senior guard
Jazmine Spencer led all scorers with a career-high 26 points, while shooting 4-for-12 from range and bringing down five rebounds.
Kaila Rougier and
Jasmynne Gibson combined for 17 points and 12 rebounds as well, but it wasn't enough to pull off the Homecoming weekend upset.

FIRST HALF: Senior guard
Jazmine Spencer started off the scoring with a pullup three from the left wing on the Ospreys' initial possession...North Florida built its lead to as much as eight at 14-6 with 1:16 minutes left in the first quarter...UNF maintained its advantage at 14-9 after the first quarter...after Central Arkansas commanded a 29-18 lead, North Florida went on a 11-5 run over the back half of the second quarter to cut the deficit to 33-29 at the half...with 1.2 seconds before half, freshman guard
Jamisyn Stinson knocked down a fadeway three from a step inside half court to beat the buzzer...Spencer led all Ospreys with 11 points in the first half, her 14th game this season with 10 or more points.
SECOND HALF: Spencer scored eight of the Ospreys' first nine points in the third quarter...after Central Arkansas pushed its lead back to double digits, North Florida went on a 6-0 run over a stretch of 1:28 minutes to cut the margin back to two possessions at the third quarter media timeout...UCA started to extend its lead late in the third quarter going into the fourth, as they held off the Ospreys the remainder of the way.
