FORT MYERS, Fla. – North Florida women's basketball fell to Florida Gulf Coast, 78-49, inside Alico Arena on Wednesday evening. 

Senior guard Kaila Rougier finished with 14 points on 6-10 from the field and 2-3 on three, in addition to three assists and a rebound in 26 minutes. Freshman guard Nicole Carreno added nine points on 3-3 from the field wth four rebounds and two blocks in 21 minutes. 

The team-high point total for Rougier marked her 12th game with 10 or more points this season.

Junior guard Sarah Taub put North Florida on the scoreboard with a three at the top of the key. Senior guard Kaila Rougier scored or assisted on all 13 first-quarter points with 10 points on 4-5 from the field and 2-2 from three with an assist. The first quarter for Rougier marked her 12th game with 10 or more points this season. Florida Gulf Coast led 25-13 at the end of the first quarter. Florida Gulf Coast extend its lead to 45-19 at the end of the first half. Entering the fourth quarter trailing 65-33, North Florida outscored Florida Gulf Coast 16-13 in the final frame. Freshman guard Nicole Carreno added five or her nine points in the fourth quarter. North Florida connected on 46.2 percent from three and 91.7 percent from the free throw line.
