JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis retakes the court for a pair of matches this weekend.
North Florida starts off the stretch at home where it hosts South Florida at UNF Tennis Complex on Friday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. UNF then travels to Wilmington, N.C. to face UNC Wilmington on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 12 p.m.
The Ospreys have split a pair of home matches throughout the initial portion of the season after it defeated Troy in the opener on Jan. 11 and fell to Gardner Webb back on Jan. 27.
The freshman doubles pair of
Gianluca Filoramo and
Lorenzo Messina have posted a pair of court wins for the second position. Sophomore
Chase Healey has also turned in a pair of wins in singles action this season.
Under first-year head coach
John Collins, UNF was tabbed by the conference's coaches to finish second overall in the 2025 ASUN Preseason Poll.
UNF was one of three teams to earn first-place votes. North Florida looks to defend its 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles after the Ospreys closed out the spring regular season on a twelve-match winning streak and an undefeated 10-0 slate against conference opponents, all which culminated in the third ASUN Tournament Championship in program history.
Following its road match on Sunday, North Florida returns home for a pair of matches at UNF Tennis Complex next week. UNF will square off with Florida Atlantic on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. and Kennesaw State on Friday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.
