JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -
James Oman hit his first home run of the season but the North Florida Ospreys fell to the Ball State Cardinals 5-1 Friday from Harmon Stadium.
Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, Dylan Grego reached on a two-out single for Ball State (5-4). He stole second and scored on a game-tying single from Nick Husovsky.
Locked in 1-1 tied, Houston King doubled to lead off the fifth. Ty Davis advanced King to third on a long flyout. With a runner at third and one out, Brett Griffiths rolled a ground ball and scored King.
The Cardinals did not slow down. Leading 2-1, King reached on an error with one out in the seventh. Two batters later, Griffith singled through the right side. With runners at first and second, Gavin Ballius laced a two-run triple and gave Ball State a 4-1 advantage.
Leading by three, Grego (1) clobbered a solo home run for Ball State, giving them their fifth and final run of the night
North Florida struck first in the bottom of the second. Oman (1) cracked an opposite field home run to put the Ospreys ahead 1-0.
