Softball Sets Historic Offensive Marks at Make It Happen Games

Ospreys Fall to Ohio State, Score 18 Runs Against Cornell

MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. - North Florida softball shattered the D-I program record for runs scored in a single game posting 18 against Cornell in the Make It Happen Games on Saturday evening.

The Ospreys put up 18 runs and 20 hits, which is also a new D-I program mark, against the Bears in the backend of a split day against Ohio State and Cornell. It was the most runs scored in all-time program history since the 1996 season, where UNF won in an 18-0 game against South Carolina State.

Allison Benning notched her 10th home run of the season in highlight fashion sending one to left field in an attempt to intentionally walk her. It was her third home run of the weekend, as they all have been against Cornell.

Lauren Brock continued to be scorching hot from the plate with a four-hit day as one of seven Ospreys to have multiple hits against the Bears. Her four hits and four runs in a game are tied for the most in D-I program history, as she is the first to accomplish both marks in the same game.

Brock is the first player to notch four hits for UNF since Madisyn Federico accomplished the feature in last season's ASUN Championship tournament against FGCU. She also now stands with recent Osprey Hall of Fame inductee Navia Penrod as the only two players in UNF D-I history with four runs scored in a game.
