JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis returns to the court when it travels to Macon, Ga. to battle Mercer on Sunday. First serve at Leroy Peddy Tennis Center is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Freshman Joao Portugal had a stellar stretch in the Ospreys' latest action with a pair of singles wins over Kennesaw State and Florida that earned him his first career ASUN Player of the Week honor on Feb. 19.

Portugal followed senior Andreas Scott as the second Osprey to bring home the weekly conference honors this season. He is also the first Osprey freshman to earn the distinction since Jorge Nunez in 2019.

Sophomore Chase Healey leads all Ospreys with four court wins in singles play this season, followed by Portugal's three propelled by the latest stretch. Healey and Portugal have also paired up for two doubles wins.

Under first-year head coach John Collins, UNF was tabbed by the conference's coaches to finish second overall in the 2025 ASUN Preseason Poll. UNF was one of three teams to earn first-place votes.

North Florida looks to defend its 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles after the Ospreys closed out the spring regular season on a twelve-match winning streak and an undefeated 10-0 slate against conference opponents, all which culminated in the third ASUN Tournament Championship in program history.

North Florida will host Cleveland State at UNF Tennis Complex on Tuesday, March 11 at 2 p.m.
