Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight, Cruises In Sweep Over West Georgia

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - North Florida volleyball earned its fourth-straight victory – and its second-straight home sweep – defeating West Georgia, 3-0, on Saturday evening.
UNF 3, UWG 0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-23)
Set 1: Graduate outside hitter Janelly Ceopa tallied back-to-back aces to put North Florida ahead 9-6. Ceopa notched four aces total in set one. Kills from senior middle blocker Kierstyn McFall, junior outside hitter Kaili Doctor and graduate outside hitter Kailey McKnight amid the set helped UNF command a 22-14 advantage. McKnight served an ace on match-point to seal the win.
Set 2: Trailing 6-3, North Florida knotted the score at six apiece following back-to-back kills from McKnight. Amid the set, McKnight served an ace and freshman opposite Kendall Newbold put down a kill on the next point to put UNF ahead 12-9. The Ospreys mustered a sensational 6-0 run in the latter stages fueled by a kill from junior middle blocker Yarimar Francis Garay and an ace from freshman setter Sofia Dawson. Freshman opposite Kendall Newbold buried a kill on set-point to earn the victory for the Ospreys.
Set 3: North Florida earned the sweep in come-from-behind fashion, coming back from a 10-5 deficit to tie the score at 17. Down the stretch, redshirt freshman libero Julianna Santiago served a clutch ace to give the Ospreys a 22-20 lead. Doctor and freshman outside hitter Leah McDonald posted timely kills, helping the Ospreys earn their fourth-straight win.
