JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Athletics officially unveiled the transformative renovation of its UNF Arena locker room and team spaces for its Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball and Volleyball programs.
Â
The latest upgrades were debuted to supporters at an unveiling event on Tuesday night. Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Nick Morrow expressed the impact of this renovation and the thankfulness of the continued investment of fans, donors and administration to ensure North Florida Athletics' student-athletes are positioned for success now and in the seasons ahead.
Â
"The unveiling of these UNF Arena renovations is a proud moment for North Florida Athletics, University of North Florida and our community," Morrow said. "This achievement reflects not only our commitment to excellence, but the generosity of our donors and supporters, whose belief in our mission makes milestones like this possible. These enhanced facilities will serve as a foundation for building champions on the court, in the classroom and in life. Together, we're creating an environment that inspires success in every aspect of the student-athlete experience."
Â
New-look locker room and team spaces for Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball and Volleyball, a renovated Athletic Training room with additional equipment, hydrotherapy room, hot and cold tubs and an enriched nutrition station are notable features that have been elevated to enhance the experience for current and future Osprey student-athletes.Â
Â
The renovation featured an upgraded Paryani Family Theater, which will house each program and ensure a dedicated film study and team meeting space. The entire hallway of the space was modernized with updated branding and elevated record-wall recognition boards that honor the past and present success of each program. The space was equipped with a custom-designed, state-of-the-art system that is highlighted by first-in-class technology and LED lighting with color-changing sequences and a variety of special effects to elevate the space.Â
Â
"Our administration is committed to providing the best possible student-athlete experience," North Florida Men's Basketball Head Coach Bobby Kennen said. "The combination of a grand vision by our athletic department coupled with the generosity of our donors has resulted in a dream becoming a reality."
Â
Kennen and North Florida Women's Basketball Head Coach Erika Lambert alike acknowledged that the elevated space will not only enhance the student-athlete experience, but help attract top talent to Jacksonville.Â
Â
"The space is a great selling point for future recruits, as well as being highly functional and meeting our program needs. The locker room project has exceeded our wildest expectations and is one that past, present and future Ospreys will be proud to call home."
Â
"I'm blown away by the total transformation of our locker room space," Lambert said. "We're so grateful to all the supporters who made this project possible. The locker room, film room and athletic training room are all so important to our daily operations. These upgrades are first-class and will enhance our student-athlete experience as well as recruiting prospects."
