
Men's Soccer Earns Seventh-Straight Win, Defeats FGCU, 2-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men's Soccer earned its seven-straight win and remained unbeaten in conference action with a 2-1 victory over Florida Gulf Coast at Hodges Stadium on Saturday night.
With the win, North Florida improves to 8-3 and 2-0 in the ASUN. The seven-straight wins mark the program's longest unbeaten and win streak of the Division I era.
Florida Gulf Coast got on the board first in the 35th minute.
Redshirt senior forward Jaxon Reinhardt headed in a ball from sophomore midfielder Anton Khelil and sophomore forward Kaiss Mansouri in the 43rd minute to level the score at 1-1. It marked the fifth goal of the season for Reinhardt, which ties his single-season career-high.Â
Redshirt senior forward Luc Granitur intercepted a ball that was played back to the Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper and then beat the Eagles' goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation for the game winner in the 83rd minute. It marked the fourth goal of the season for Granitur.
Overall, 16 Ospreys logged time in the match. Seven Ospreys – Natoli, junior midfielder Tyler Prebenda, senior defender Alex Barnett, senior defender Jaylen Yearwood, junior defender Paul Schacherer, sophomore midfielder Rafa Rios and Khelil – played the full time.
North Florida outshot its visitors 13-8 and 6-5 on goal.Â
North Florida has a quick turnaround when it travels to Mt. Pleasant, S.C. to battle College of Charleston on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.
