Swimming Drops Penultimate Dual Meet at Georgia Southern

Ospreys Tally 35 Top-Five Finishes against Eagles

STATESBORO, Ga. - North Florida women's swimming fell in its penultimate dual meet of the competition season in a rematch against Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon. 

Senior Gabriella Reeves took home a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, while the group of Victoria Torres, Riley McCormick, Amelia Hildebrand and Marcia Shaw touched the wall first in the 200-yard medley relay.

Georgia Southern 206, North Florida 92

  • The group of Victoria Torres, Riley McCormick, Amelia Hildebrand and Marcia Shaw concluded the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing with a combined time of 1:37.42
  • Gabby Reeves swam to a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:07.18
  • The Ospreys tallied a total of 35 top-five finishes between individual and group races
  • Kayla Daley notched two second-place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly with times of 57.63 and 2:09.20, respectively

UP NEXT 
The Ospreys wrap up the regular season with a dual meet at FGCU over the course of two days. Day one will get underway Friday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. with day two kicking off Saturday, Feb. 1 at 12 p.m.
