Burkhardt Paces All Players With 15 Kills, McFall Hits .423

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - North Florida volleyball (3-3) bounced back after the first set to turn in three-straight 25-21 victories across sets two, three and four in a 3-1 victory against Texas Southern (0-5) Friday, Sept. 6.

Amy Burkhardt paced the way with 15 kills and eight digs, while Kamila Mieles posted a team-high 15 digs in a starting role. Annie Antar dished out 31 assists and hit .500, while Kierstyn McFall added 12 kills on .423 hitting.

Inside the Sets

Set 1: The first set saw a match high seven tie scores as Texas Southern held on and won, 28-26 … UNF held a 19-18 advantage in kills, but Texas Southern's .429 hitting percentage provided the small margin.
Set 2: North Florida ushered Texas Southern into eight attack errors, Burkhardt paced the way with four kills to help UNF even things up.
Set 3: North Florida led by as many as eight points in the third set … Texas Southern trimmed its deficit to 21-19, but UNF found a 4-2 spurt to close things out.
Set 4: UNF held Texas Southern to .118 hitting to close out the match … Ella Bines came through with four kills and .500 hitting.
