Amy Burkhardt Named ASUN Player of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After helping North Florida to sweeps against Rhode Island and Quinnipiac, Amy Burkhardt was named ASUN Player of the Week as released by the league office Tuesday, Sept. 3.

"Amy played superb volleyball this weekend," head coach Kristen Wright said. "She's scoring at an extremely high level and is executing a lot of things we've trained in first weekend. Her whole game is really impressive and I'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves."

Burkhardt posted 4.09 kills/set over 11 frames, while adding 2.36 digs/set and 26 digs. Burkhardt went for double-digit kills in all three matches as well as three double-doubles, earning North Florida Invite All-Tournament honors.

She finished the weekend with a 19-kill and 12-dig double-double against Mercer, while hitting .462 against Quinnipiac. Her first double-double of the year came in the season opener against Rhode Island as the Ospreys swept the Rams.

UNF starts a stretch of four matches in four days tomorrow at FAMU. From there UNF goes to Corpus Christi, Tex.
