David Perez Scores First Osprey Goal in Third Minute
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's soccer (2-5-2, 0-1-0 ASUN) tallied the opening goal in the third minute but came up just a goal short at Stetson (3-3-2, 1-0-0 ASUN) in the league opener Saturday, Sept. 21.
The Ospreys repeated its quick offensive output from earlier this week against the Hatters with David Perez scoring in the third minute to open up ASUN competition. Stetson would score in the 40th and 57th minutes.

The Ospreys benefit from a week of rest before their return home for the River City Rumble against Jacksonville on Saturday, Sept. 29, with kickoff set for 7 p.m., at Hodges Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UNF once again jumped to a quick start with Rafa Rios passing to David Perez over the top to knock in the first Osprey goal of conference play.
- Nick Kishchenko had a shot on goal in the 28th minute to try and extend the lead, but it was saved by the Hatters' keeper.
- Stetson attempted three shots over the next 30 minutes of play, but the UNF defense stood tall.
- Just before the half, the Hatters scored a goal in the 40th minute to tie the match a one score a piece.
- Both sides stayed defensive in the second half with minimal shots on goal through the first 10 minutes.
- Iu Pentinat had a save on the first Hatter shot, but wasn't able to save the second shot in what ended up being the game-winner for Stetson in the 60th minute.
