Men's Soccer Falls to Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, Fla. - North Florida men's soccer (1-4-2) came up short in a 2-0 loss against Florida Atlantic (2-2-1) on Friday evening.

A red card to Joaquin Acuna had the Ospreys down to 10 players for the remainder of the match. FAU scored to go up a goal in the 33rd minute, followed by another in the 84th minute to put away the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Only one shot was taken through 12 minutes.
  • FAU saw in influx of shots on goal shortly afterwards, but Luciano Natoli held strong with three saves in an eight-minute span.
  • The Owls broke through first in the 34th minute to take the early lead against the Ospreys.
  • After FAU went up a goal, Jaylen Yearwood took lone shot on goal in the first half for UNF, but it was saved at the top center of the net.
  • Anton Khelil came out firing with the first shot out of the break, but it was denied by the FAU keeper.
  • Another shot was taken by the Owls, but Natoli racked up his third save of the game in the 79th minute.
  • The game was put away in the 84th minute with another goal by FAU to secure to 2-0 result.
