
Kolbe Notches CSC Academic All-American Honors

German Junior Earned Third Team Recognition
GREENWOOD, Ind. - Junior Smilla Kolbe becomes the third North Florida women's track & field athlete in program history to be named CSC Academic All-America with a third team selection, as announced by the national organization on Tuesday, Jul. 9.
Kolbe becomes the first female Osprey to make the CSC Academic All-America team since Eden Meyer accomplished back-to-back national academic accolades from 2017-18. It is also the second time in three seasons that a UNF runner to earned All-American honors through CSC, as Nathan Jubran was selected on the men's side in 2022.
The Hanover, Germany, native put together a career season with three All-ASUN selections, two ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year distinctions and an All-American Honorable Mention honoree for the outdoor 800m race. She joins Ethan Ash and Jonas Hartenstein as a third Osprey this season across all sports to be named as a CSC Academic All-American.
She notched a perfect 4.0 GPA in psychology and criminal justice, which led her to various academic recognitions over the cross country and track & field seasons. The program record for the women's 800m was broken by the junior during outdoor season at 2:01.63, along with also breaking the ASUN Outdoor Championship meet record for the 800m with the same time.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's track& field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
