Hometown Signee Scored Over 1,000 Career Points at Impact Christian Academy
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's basketball completes its 2024 signing class with the final addition of hometown talent, Taylor Thompson, as announced by head coach Matthew Driscoll and staff on Wednesday afternoon.
Thompson stays home in Jacksonville, Fla., after serving as a four-year starter at Impact Christian Academy. He racked up over 1,000 points over his high school career averaging 14 PPG and 4 APG as a senior. He was also named District 5 Player of the Year in 2023 and helped his squad to two Final Four berths in the FHSAA State Championship.
The 6-2 guard has a long-standing relationship with the Ospreys, as he began attending UNF men's basketball camps back when he was five years old. He achieves his desire to continue his family's legacy, as his father, mother, sister and aunt are all graduates of North Florida.
As the final piece of the '24 signing class, Thompson joins Josh Harris, Alex Vargo, Nestor Dyachok, Liam Murphy, Dante Oliver, Kamrin Oriol and Arden Begaj as the Osprey newcomers going into next season. He joins Harris, Oliver and Begaj as incoming freshmen on the UNF roster for the 2024-25 season.
