Baseball Falls in Series Finale to Jacksonville in River City Rumble

Runnels & Howell Both Produced Multi-Hit Days

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In another offensive output in the series finale, North Florida baseball (18-19, 8-10 ASUN) came out of the rubber match just short against Jacksonville (18-18, 12-6 ASUN), 9-6, on Sunday afternoon.

The Ospreys fell to an early two-run deficit in the second inning to start off the game, but bounced back in the top of the third with singles from Tyler Gerteisen and Jabin Bates that produced a pair of runs to tie the game. JU put up another score in the third, but Connor Moore had another answer with an RBI single to make it a 3-3 game.

In the sixth inning, the Dolphins had another pair of runs make their way home, but UNF was only able to match with one run courtesy of an RBI single from Jakob Runnels. After an RBI double from Finn Howell in the eighth and a hit-by-pitch score in the ninth, the Ospreys had the bases loaded but couldn't execute to drop the series finale, 9-6.
