JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis (7-7) pulled out a its second conference win of the season in three days against Central Arkansas (7-8) on Sunday afternoon after UNF Tennis Complex.
UCA came out strong when they took the doubles point over the Ospreys and led, 1-0, going into singles play. Down 1-0 to the Bears, UNF would have to win four out of the six courts in singles play in order to win the match. With the help of
Alisa Lyshko and
Jasmin Makela winning in straight sets, the Ospreys pulled off the win, 4-3, over Central Arkansas.
Sofia Snitko and
Anslee Long went on to win their sets as well to give the Ospreys its two points needed to win the match. UNF would go on to beat the Bears, 4-3, to improve their record against UCA to 3-0 all time.
Next up for the Ospreys, they will continue their homestead at the UNF Tennis Complex when they take on North Alabama on Mar. 24, at 11 a.m.
