CHARLOTTE, N.C. - North Florida baseball (13-6, 3-0 ASUN) completed a three-game sweep against Queens (4-16, 0-3 ASUN) to improve to 4-0 on their road trip on Sunday afternoon.
The Ospreys battled through struggles in the ninth, as they stranded the bases loaded on a 3-2 count and took the series finale by one run. The sweep positioned UNF at the top of the ASUN standings to start conference play.
Queens jumped out to an early lead on an error in the second. The Ospreys would quickly tie it up on a fielder's choice in the third. The game would remain tied until the sixth, when UNF broke through. The big blow of the inning was a Matthew Clement two-run double, which made it a six to nothing game.
Tony Roca dominated again, tossing seven innings off one-run ball. He struck out ten in what would be a career day. Queens would rally in the ninth, scoring two more off of
Kaden Humphrey.
Jordan Wimpelberg would secure the victory, ending the game with a strikeout on a full count.
