Beach Volleyball Goes Undefeated on Final Day of Carolina Challenge

Ospreys Defeat Tennessee Tech, Eastern Kentucky

COLUMBIA, S.C. -  North Florida beach volleyball (9-3) made it five wins in a row with a 5-0 sweep of Tennessee Tech (3-4) and a 4-1 victory over conference foes Eastern Kentucky (6-5)  to conclude the Carolina Challenge on Sunday at Wheeler Beach. 

UNF went undefeated over the course of the weekend with four wins, two being sweeps. The pairs of Mariana Feliciano Sanchez/Mackenzie Murphy and Cameron Humphries/Hayden Wooldridge won all of their matches on the weekend, improving to 11-1 and 8-0, respectively.

The Ospreys faced off against the Golden Eagles for the first time in program history. Cameron Humphries/Hayden Wooldridge and Iris Fletcher/Hallie Phelan claimed the first two match points, giving UNF the advantage early. Feliciano Sanchez/Murphy sealed the win for the Ospreys in two sets. Presley Murray and Madison Espy allowed just 13 points across two sets in a dominant display. Taylor Pierce and Michaela Rezentes would seal the second sweep of the weekend for UNF.

The Ospreys faced off against Eastern Kentucky for just the second time in program history to close out the weekend. The pair of Madeline Camp/Kelly McConekey picked up the first match point for UNF, followed by Humphries/Wooldridge, who made it 2-0. Feliciano Sanchez/Murphy and Murray/Espy secured another two match points to ensure a fifth win in a row for the Ospreys. The Colonels grabbed a point in the last matchup to prevent a Sunday sweep for UNF.
