JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball (8-15, 2-7) got back in the win column after graduate
Jayla Adams hit a clutch jumper in the paint with five seconds left on the clock to take down Austin Peay (11-13, 4-6), 52-50, on Thursday afternoon.
The Ospreys held the lead for the majority of the game after jumping to an early lead in the first period, but Adams handled the rock with 10 seconds remaining and put down the game-winner in regulation. She ended her night with a team-high 15 points to extend her stretch of double-digit performances in conference play.
Emma Broermann set a career-high milestone against the Governors with her 129th appearance as an Osprey to become the all-time program leader for career games played. The fifth-year graduate student reached the mark in her 90th career start, while also getting to celebrate her 23rd birthday with a win as well.

First Half: Lyric Swann got the Ospreys started with a three-pointer two minutes into the game assisted from
Kaila Rougier...after APSU responded with a score, UNF went on a 10-0 run highlighted with treys from Adams and
Agnes Svansdottir...the defense held the Governors to two points until the 3:17 mark of the first period...Taub broke up a mini-run from Austin Peay with a layup to keep a seven-point lead...Rougier responded with another layup and Adams hit another three to keep its distance...Broermann scored her first basket, followed by scores from Adams and Rougier...Swann knocked down a pair of free throws to go into the half up by eight.
Second Half: Out of the break,
Sarah Taub executed a layup for the Ospreys' first bucket of the second half...made free throws were the key to points for UNF in the third quarter with six makes, along with a layup from Washington with just under a minute in the period...after going on a 6-0 run and taking a six-point lead, Adams and Taub took control with scores to bring it back within two...Taub made one from downtown and Swann returned again to take a one-point lead...after APSU returned to a three-point lead, Rougier returned the favor with a made trey with under two minutes left to tie the score...with defense stops on both sides, the game came down to Adams with 10 seconds left and she executed with six seconds left on the clock...UNF showed out on defense one last time to lock up the 52-50 win at home.
