NASHVILLE, Tenn. - North Florida women's basketball's (8-16, 2-8) valiant second half surge fell just short to the hands of Lipscomb (14-10, 7-4) in a double overtime nail-biter on Saturday afternoon.
The Ospreys were down 15 points entering the last quarter before rallying back to send the game into the first of two overtime periods on the night. UNF shot 45% from the field in the last quarter, while knocking down four threes in the process courtesy of
Alexa Washington.
Emma Broermann's heroics rounded out the comeback with a put-back layup as the clock approached zero to send the game into overtime. The hard-fought battle did not reap its rewards, as the Ospreys ran out of gas in the second overtime and eventually Lipscomb pulled away as the period finished.

COACH'S THOUGHTS
"Today's fourth quarter was the best quarter of basketball we've played all year. I'm proud of our team's resilience to make a big comeback and fight into double OT. Our offensive execution was very good and we took the shots we wanted. We took care of the ball with only 11 turnovers. Emma's double-double was huge and we got great scoring from our small guards today, especially
Alexa Washington off the bench. Unfortunately, I thought our defensive intensity in the first half was lacking. It was an effort problem. We shouldn't have gone into halftime down 11 but we rallied in the locker room and came storming back. By the second overtime we had key players fouled out and really just ran out of gas. Hats off to Lipscomb for hell of a contest today. It was a memorable one for sure."
