Women's Basketball Falls On Road To FGCU

Ospreys Eliminated from ASUN Championship Contention

FORT MYERS, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball (9-20, 3-12) couldn't keep up with the offensive output that Florida Gulf Coast (25-4, 15-0) produced in its 75-33 road defeat on Thursday evening.

The Ospreys stayed within a couple possessions through the first period, but the deficit grew too large to overcome against FGCU. UNF had seven points each from starters Kaila Rougier and Emma Broermann, as well as another seven from Agnes Svansdottir off the bench.

Second Half: Broermann went 1-for-2 from the charity stripe in the third period to continue adding points for UNF...Lyric Swann and Washington earned tough layups in the paint on back-to-back possessions...Svansdottir went on to score a layup and two free throws, but those were the only points of the fourth quarter, as the Ospreys dropped its penultimate game of the regular season to the Eagles.
