Broermann Records Sixth Double-Double of the Season

DeLAND, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball fell in a tight affair to a red hot Stetson team despite a sixth double-double of the season from Emma Broermann as the Ospreys concluded its season in DeLand, Fla. on Saturday afternoon.

Stetson extended its lead to nine early, but Selma Eklund found her first points of the contest from a layup off the glass … The Hatters offense would continue to do damage, taking the lead up to thirteen before back-to-back makes from Broermann … Swann drained her second three and Kaila Rougier grabbed her first bucket to take the Ospreys into the half only down 28-23.

COACH'S THOUGHTS
"It's only fitting that our seniors led the way today in their final collegiate game. We fought hard to do something special on the road and came up just short. I'm very proud of the way our kids competed today and all season long. I don't think our record reflects all the growth that occurred behind the scenes or the foundation that we worked to establish this year. I have a lot of respect for Coach Bria and her veteran group. Stetson is the second-best team in our league and the way we played today just shows you we're not that far off from taking this program to the top third of the ASUN. We're sad that our season is over, but we're very excited about our future. I can't thank Emma, Lyric & Jayla enough for their trust in us and for exemplifying our core values of integrity, humility, competitiveness, toughness & maintaining healthy relationships. All three of these ladies have made a lasting impact on UNF Women's Basketball and we wish them the very best!"
