North Florida Improves to 2-0 With Win vs. Charleston Southern

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's basketball (2-0) shot 15-for-29 from beyond the arc, getting 23 points from Josh Harris and 21 from Jasai Miles in a 90-66 rout of Charleston Southern (0-2) in the home opener Thursday, Nov. 7.

Harris' 23 points was the most by a UNF freshman since Wajid Aminu posted 24 as a true freshman in 2016. Miles' 21 points was the most for him against a Division I opponent. The Ospreys' 90-point outburst nearly matched the program's 92-point performance against Coastal Georgia in last year's season opener.

Liam Murphy poured in five three-pointers, scoring 19 points off the bench to follow up his big day against South Carolina.

1st Half

Harris provided the early spark, scoring a quick six points as UNF held a 6-5 lead at the first media timeout … Harris and Murphy followed with three pointers as UNF's lead ballooned to 18-9 … Charleston Southern generated a 10-0 run to take a 19-18 lead … both teams traded buckets and were within a possession or two through the under-four media timeout, with Harris pacing all scorers with 15 points in 9 minutes played … UNF generated a late spurt for a 42-35 lead at the half.

2nd Half

Jasai Miles and Harris came out hot in the second half, pushing North Florida ahead, 49-37 … North Florida controlled the game from there, with UNF going 9-for-10 from beyond the arc to create a 84-61 lead at the final media timeout … Nestor Dyachok earned his first-career points down the stretch and UNF closed the second half out with a 48-31 scoring advantage.
