Spencer Shines With 20-Point Performance

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball (1-6) fell in its first of two games hosting the UNF Invitational this weekend to Coppin State (4-3), 76-61, on Friday afternoon at UNF Arena.

The Ospreys found their footing late on the offensive side of the ball with 25 points in the fourth quarter, but were unable to cut into the deficit enough in the final minutes. Jazmine Spencer had her best game as an Osprey thus far, as the senior transfer dropped 20 points with four made three-pointers.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

Second Half: A pair of layups from Rafnsdottir and Sarah Taub opened up the third quarter for the Ospreys...Rougier went on a run of her own with a made three and a layup...Spencer continued shooting threes for the Ospreys heading into the final period of play...Sydney Pettis fought through traffic for a bucket to go along with a score from Spencer...scores from Taub and Pettis on top of threes from Stinson and Spencer brought the deficit to single digits at the final media timeout...Rougier and Gibson added on a couple scores to try and eat into the margin...Spencer made one last three in the final seconds to reach 20 points, but it was not enough in the hard-fought effort in game one of the Thanksgiving weekend MTE.
