GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Andreas Scott came out of the first day of competition for North Florida men's tennis with a pair of singles win in the main draw of the Bedford Cup hosted by Florida on Friday afternoon.

Scott put together back-to-back straight-set singles victories against Jonathan Baron from FGCU and Xavier Sarda Marti from Stetson to advance to the quarterfinals of the orange draw. His upcoming matchup will be against Tanapatt Nirundorn of Florida to advance to the final four.

Spencer Dorosheff also picked up a singles win in his debut at the Bedford Cup with a three-set match that went down to the wire against Christopher Smith from FGCU. Bruno Vietri, Lorenzo Messina, Jean Deloziere and Benjamin Scott joined the two Ospreys in singles and doubles to start the first rounds of the fall event.

North Florida continues its week with the next round of matches at the Bedford Cup hosted by Florida on Saturday, Oct. 25. Scott looks to move further down the bracket in singles play, while the rest of the UNF squad will play consolation matches in singles and doubles.
