JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis (2-1) started off with the doubles point in its 2024 spring home opener, but fell against Georgia Southern (3-0) to a 5-2 score on Friday afternoon at UNF Tennis Complex.
Kendall Nash and
Anslee Long started on the right foot in doubles play with a 6-2 win on court two. Shortly after,
Annabelle Davis and
Amy Kaplan brought home the doubles point for the Ospreys, winning 6-2 as well.
Alisa Lyshko handled business early on court five, as she swept her matchup, 6-0, 6-1. The Ospreys continued to battle from there, as three of the singles matches went to a third set, but all three were lost against the Eagles.
The Ospreys will host Elon in the second match of the weekend on Sunday, Jan. 28, with a 10 a.m. start at UNF Tennis Complex.
