Women's Tennis Preview: at Texas State/Incarnate Word

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis will start their spring season with a road trip to the Lone Star State to face Incarnate Word and Texas State. This will be the first time that the Ospreys will compete against each team, as they will play the Cardinals on Friday, Jan. 19, and the Bobcats on Saturday, Jan. 20.

With UNF set to defend its 2023 ASUN Regular Season Championship title, the Ospreys were picked to finish first in the 2024 ASUN Preseason Coaches poll receiving a league-high nine first-place votes.

About the Opponent - Incarnate Word
  • Incarnate Word finished the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 16-8 and 4-2 in the SLC.
  • The Cardinals were dominate at home last season with a record of 5-1.
  • The Cardinals went undefeated in neutral site matches played in the 2022-23 season.
  • Incarnate Word put together a winning percentage of .559 in singles matches and .657 in doubles matches.
  • Head coach Courtney Steinbock is entering her first season as the head coach of the women's tennis team.
  • The Cardinals had a breakout Freshman last season in Estefania Gonzalez who went 19-0 in her doubles matches making All-SLC First Team.
