CHARLOTTE, N.C. - North Florida women's basketball (7-11, 1-3) had an impressive showing on offense to secure its first conference victory of the season against Queens (N.C.) (6-10, 0-3), 76-57, on Saturday afternoon.
After back-to-back games of scoring under 45 points, UNF got back on track on the back half of their road trip with a 19-point victory up north. Head coach
Erika Lambert also picked up her first ASUN win as the helm of the Ospreys.
Lyric Swann was lighting it up from deep with five three-pointers to score 17 points in the game, while
Jayla Adams also put together 17 points going 4-for-7 from the field and 7-for-8 from the charity stripe. It's the second time this year that two Ospreys have combined for 17 points or more against a D-I opponent.

First Half: Swann started the scoring with an early three-pointer that foreshadowed the theme of the game...after back-to-back buckets from
Emma Broermann in the paint, Swann returned with another three with
Alexa Washington adding on another from deep...with the score tied at 13-13,
Jayla Adams joined in on the fun from beyond the arc to give UNF a four-point lead through the first...the scoring run broke open for the Ospreys in the second quarter with a 12-1 run that started with
Sarah Taub earning an and-one basket...during the run, freshman
Agnes Svansdottir scored her first points as an Osprey after joining the team from Iceland just a few weeks ago...Adams and Swann ended the run with scores, but
Alexa Washington started another run to end the first half with seven straight points to take a 36-24 lead into the break.
Second Half: Adams hit another three-pointer going into the third quarter, but not before
Selma Eklund worked her way through traffic in the paint...Swann keep chucking it from distance with a made three off the glass...Adams and Washington converted on layups midway through the third, followed with Broermann and Washington scoring on another scoring run for UNF...Svansdottir made her first three-pointer to secure a 20-point lead heading into the fourth...after a defensive start to the final period, Swann made her fifth three of the night and
Kyla Cain followed that up with an and-one shortly after...made free throws through the final five minutes of the game kept the Royals at bay in the 76-57 road win.

"I'm so proud of the way our team responded. There is no quit in this group! We were down one starter today, but still executed our game plan smoothly. Our transition defense was strong again against a fast-paced Queens squad, and offensively, our players were more intentional today about getting the ball in the paint, which opened things up for us on the perimeter. Lastly, we were happy to welcome our new teammate, Agnes [Svansdottir], to the floor! She's only been practicing for a week and a half, but jumped right in and gave us valuable minutes at the four spot. She's going to be a very versatile player for us."

- This is Swann's 11th game in double figures and the second time in her Osprey career making at least five three-pointers, with the first being against Auburn on Dec. 20, 2022.
- Adams has also been an effective scorer as of recent with double digits in seven of her last eight games.
- Svansdottir saw her first action as an Osprey with five points, two assists and two steals after arriving with the team from Iceland in late December.
- Taub entered the starting lineup for the first time since USC Upstate on Nov. 25, 2023.
- UNF was efficient from every facet of the game shooting 48.0% from the field, 41.7% from 3PT, and an 81.8 FT%.
- The Ospreys also had the edge for points in the paint, 26-20, and fast break points, 9-2.
