Volleyball Drops September Finale at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - North Florida (7-10, 1-3 ASUN) traveled to Nashville for the September finale, falling against the Bisons (9-5, 4-0 ASUN) in the lone league match of the weekend. Kailey McKnight paced the UNF offense with her fourth-straight double-digit kill output, but Lipscomb was efficient in its three-set win.

Inside the Sets
  • Set 1: Lipscomb took an early 9-3 lead, getting lifted by 1.000 hitting percentage through five attacks … Maddie Boyd snuffed out a few attacks for consecutive blocks to get UNF back within striking distance … Lipscomb finished with an extremely efficient set, falling 25-15 in the first frame.
  • Set 2: Kelly Negron dropped in an ace to give UNF a 10-9 lead … the Ospreys carried that advantage to a four-point lead at the media timeout … Amy Burkhardt got a crosscourt kill to land to expand the lead to 21-19 … but, Lipscomb replied with a 3-0 run to take a one-point lead and force a UNF timeout … Lipscomb finished the match on a 6-0 run to earn the victory.
  • Set 3: Lipscomb gained a 9-6 lead after going on a 3-0 run, breaking a 6-6 tie … Mahalia White found a groove in the middle of the frame, posting a trio of kills, but Lipscomb's high-percentage hitting remained.
