Final Tune-Up Before League Play

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - North Florida volleyball (6-7) took on Florida State (6-6) in the final tune-up before league play Tuesday night, dropping a midweek in the state's capital, 3-0, Sept. 19.

Maddie Boyd paced the Ospreys offensively, hitting .462 with seven kills, although a hot-hitting Florida State team posted a .369 clip as a squad. The Noles entered leading the ACC in hitting percentage.

UNF 0, FSU 3 (21-25, 15-25, 19-25)

Inside the Sets

Set 1: UNF started off hot, taking a 7-3 lead with the help of some strong serving and aggressive play by setter Annie Antar … the Noles went on a 7-2 run though, taking a lead that they held the rest of the way … North Florida stayed within three points, down 23-20, but a kill and attack error gave Florida State the set.
Set 2: There were two tie scores and two lead changes early on, but FSU stayed ahead with a .467 hitting percentage, using four players with at least three kills … Boyd stayed strong in the second, hitting .333 for a team-high three kills.
Set 3: UNF hit .381, pacing the Noles by .073 points in that department in the third frame, but a six-ace difference in favor of the hosts was the final discrepancy in the score.
