JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's soccer (0-1-1) scored early in its home opener, but a second half Charleston goal forced a 1-1 draw against Charleston (0-0-2) on Sunday, Aug. 27, at Hodges Stadium.
The Ospreys drove momentum early in the game with their first goal of the 2023 season coming from transfer
Luc Granitur in the 12th minute. Charleston responded in the second half with an unlucky goal off a rebound that resulted in a 1-1 draw to open the three-game home slate.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chema Preciado got to work early with his first save coming in the second minute of the game.
- In the Ospreys' second shot attempt of the game, Granitur finessed his way through the defense on an outlet pass from Joaquin Acuna and nailed a goal into the bottom left corner for the first goal of the year.
- In the 27th minute, College of Charleston had a golden opportunity to even the score, but the shot hit the top of the woodwork to leave empty handed on the possession.
- Eight of the last nine shots were attempted by the Cougars, but only one was on target for another save by Preciado.
- Just four minutes into the second half, Charleston rebounded its own missed shot after a Preciado save and put the ball in the net on the second attempt to bring the score to 1-1.
- The Ospreys had a pair of shots on goal in the 59th and 71st minutes, but both were saved by the Cougars' keeper.
- One final push from Granitur was made in the 89th minute, but a nice save solidified the 1-1 draw to open at home.
