JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's soccer (1-1-1) found its groove on offense in the second half with four goals in the final 31 minutes to earn its first win of the season, 4-1, against Winthrop (1-2-0) on Friday evening.
Luc Granitur continues to shine as a sophomore transfer from North Carolina, as he scored his second and third goals of the season within five minutes of each other.
Joaquin Acuna and
Zach Board were the other goal scorers for UNF with assists made from
Bendeguz Burka,
Nick Kishchenko,
Brian McManus Jr., and
Steven Barrier.
The Ospreys scored four goals in a game for the first time since playing Mercer on Sept. 3, 2021. It is also the first time two goals have been scored within five minutes of each other since facing Jacksonville on Mar. 20, 2021, and it happened twice on Friday against the Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Winthrop brought pressure early in the match with Chema Preciado facing three shots in the first 12 minutes, including a save in the 10th minute.
- Granitur had the first chance at goal in the 20th minute, but the save was made by the Eagles to keep it even.
- Two more chances went the Ospreys' way with another great save from Preciado, followed by a shot off the top woodwork moments later.
- The first substitution for UNF wasn't made until the 36th minute, followed by one shot in the final 10 minutes to close the first half scoreless.
- Under two minutes into the second half, a ricochet shot and a good touch gave Winthrop a goal and the lead.
- The Ospreys responded in the 59th minute with Burka lacing a pass over the top to Granitur for the equalizer.
- Just over two minutes later, Nick Kishchenko made a long pass from midfield to Acuna for him to tap a goal for the lead.
- The action didn't stop there, as Granitur weaved right through the Eagles' defense and shot a bullet into the back of the net for a 3-1 lead.
- With the substitutions rolling in from both sides, UNF scored in the 80th minute with freshmen Steven Barrier and McManus assisting Board for the score to secure to 4-1 victory.

- UNF outshot the Eagles, 20-13, which was the most shots taken this season, as well as the most shots on goal with eight.
- The Osprey defense held Winthrop to only four shots on goal, including only one in the second half.
