LEXINGTON, Ky. - North Florida volleyball's stellar work in the classroom landed the program its 11th United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/AVCA) Team Academic honor during the program's DI era. Additionally, UNF also took home honor roll distinction as a top 20 percent program among all Division I squads in grade point average.
All told it's the 15th honor in UNF volleyball history after taking into account the DII era. North Florida earned a 3.696 grade point average in the spring, with 14 on the dean's list.
The USMC/AVCA award is given to teams that maintain a year-long grade point average of at least 3.3 of 4.0. UNF volleyball surpassed that tally in both the fall and spring semesters.
North Florida opens the year in California at the UCSB Tournament in late August.
