No. 86 Gulihur Takes a Set Against No. 4 Dasha Vidmanova
ORLANDO, Fla. - No. 86 Kit Gulihur started off strong against one of the nation's top singles players, taking the first set against No. 4 Darja Vidmanova of Georgia, although the Bulldogs' second-singles player took the second and third sets as Gulihur bowed out of the NCAA Singles Championship in the Round of 64 Monday, May 22.

Gulihur had a huge break in the first set to take the lead before breaking serve again for set point in the 6-3 first set. Gulihur established an early lead in the second frame, but Vidmanova rallied to take seven of the final nine games in the second session to force a third frame.Â
Vidmanova maintained the momentum, taking a 5-2 lead in the third. Gulihur broke serve to make it 5-3 and rallied from down 40-0 in the next game, evading two match points before UGA eventually pulled off the win in three frames.Â
Gulihur had a 22-match singles winning streak finally snapped, capping an illustrious three-year career at North Florida that will go down as one of the best careers across all North Florida programs. A day earlier Gulihur became a two-time NCAA Elite 90 honoree, earning the honor as the student-athlete with the highest GPA among all competitors in the NCAA Championships for their respective sport.Â
