Softball Falls in Doubleheader to Liberty

Glover Hits Pair of Home Runs in Second Game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (19-17, 2-9 ASUN) found its offense early in the second game of the doubleheader against Liberty (24-13, 9-2 ASUN), but UNF couldn't keep the Flames at bay on Friday afternoon at the UNF Softball Complex.

The Ospreys faced tough pitching to open the series against Liberty, as they were held to one run in the loss. UNF exploded for nine runs in the following game, which was the most runs scored since Mar. 10 against Northern Kentucky, but Liberty put up 12 runs to sweep the twin bill.

Shannon Glover was dynamic in both games against the Flames going 3-for-7 with four RBIs, three runs and two home runs combined, including back-to-back bombs in the second and fourth innings in the back half of the doubleheader. She expands on her team lead for home runs on the season with seven total, while also bringing her career mark to 20 total.
