Behind the Line Score
- A leadoff single was followed by a line drive two run home run to left field by Javon Hernandez in the first inning, putting JSU up two.
- North Florida replied with two runs in the first inning though. With two outs, Jakob Runnels, Cade Reich and Alex Lodise all laced singles. Reich and Lodise executed a first and third double steal to get the second run.
- UNF flashed the leather in the fourth. Reich threw the leadoff hitter out as he attempted to reach on a double. Gabriel Esquivel and Lodise then turned a 3-6-3 double play.
- Reich made Jacksonville State pay after Runnels was intentionally walked in front of him, driving in Matthew Clements. Austin Brinling was thrown out at the plate trying to score though, keeping it 3-2 Ospreys.
- North Florida extended the lead to 5-2 in the sixth. Peyton Sybrandt walked and Cherokee Nichols rolled a double into the left field corner. Clements sprayed an RBI single to right and Nichols later scored after sneaking under the tag at home on an RBI groundout from Brinling.
- JSU scored its first run since the first inning in the top of the seventh. With two outs and a runner at second, Hernandez flared a ball to right that Nichols initially had in his glove but was ruled to be a no catch as it trickled out as he got to his feet.
- Defense came through to complete the win for UNF in the ninth. Esquivel made a sliding stop for a force out to start the inning, preventing a double. With two on and two out, Brinling made a diving catch on a blooper of Hernandez's bat, ending the game.
